Elite Wrestling Training in Edinboro & Millcreek

At the Gold Schopp, we offer top-tier technique, mindset, and lifestyle. Or we like to call it, the Gold Standard. Building top-tier student athletes to reach heights unbeknownst to them. With the long-game in mind, we want our athletes to learn how to enjoy the process of becoming great.

Working along and with D1 athletes for over a decade, I understand the long term paths to success on and off the mat for wrestlers.  We strive to have our wrestlers enjoy the sport while learning to be the most dominant wrestlers on the mat!

What I Do

Welcome to Gold Schopp Wrestling Camp – Where Passion Fuels Progress!

Have fun.

Wrestling is such a hard sport. We want our wrestlers to truly find the joy in things.  Our goal is to keep things fun while we maintaining an enironment for elite level athletes to continue to strive for their potential

Stay Positive.

We should find good in all situations. Have a forward thinking mindset instead of dwelling on the past. We teach our wrestlers to be grateful for the opportunities that we are blessed with.

Work hard.

There is no easy way around. Our paths to success can be fun, and we can try to stay positive, but rough roads make tough wrestlers. We will work hard at camp and gain a wealth of knowledge help our wrestlers become better versions of themselves.

My Story

Three-time All-American A.J. Schopp joined the Purdue wrestling staff as an assistant coach in August 2017. From his high-level experience as one of the nation’s top 133-pounders throughout his career at Edinboro, to his time building a program as an assistant coach at South Dakota State, Schopp brings an exceptional skill set and high level of competitiveness to Purdue.

In his four seasons with the Boilermakers, Schopp has mentored a variety of standouts and national qualifiers, including two-time Big Ten Championship 125-pound runner-up Devin Schroder, 2018 NCAA Round of 12 qualifier Luke Welch, two-time national qualifier Ben Thornton and 2021 NCAA qualifier Jacob Rundell. Schroder and Thornton earned spots on the Boilermakers’ back-point record lists under Schopp’s tutelage, with Schroder sitting second all-time in program history.
